Every Year 4th class take part in a cycling safety programme run by 'The Cycling Safety School' from Celbridge. The instructor comes to our school and teaches 4th class various skills in cycling safety. The cycling school were booked out early this year but have put us down for Autumn 2017.
Here are some photos from previous year - see if you can see any familiar faces.
Hopefully the skills will be useful for our Active School Week - Active Travel Improvement Aim.
Let's see loads of bikes next week and After Easter.

Coming Soon ....... Active School Week
Active School Week is straight after the Easter Holidays 24th - 28th April.
The plan will be sent home next week with a different activity every day.
There will be a 60 minute a day activity challenge as Activity Homework.
We also aim to improve the number of pupils who take Active Travel to school. Our Active School Committee are conducting a survey at present showing about 75% of the pupils come by car. They will conduct another survey during Active School Week to see if we can improve this.
Watch this space for some Flash Backs to previous efforts made at Active travel during the past year.
If we all make a big effort after Easter we will make a difference to our health and to the environment by having more pupils using active travel more often.

Ceilí Mór
Bhí Ceilí Mór againn ar Deardaoin 16ú ag ceiliúradh Seachtain na Gaeilge 2017.
D'fhoghlaim na páistí Ballaí Luimní agus Ionsaí na hInse.
Bhí siad go hiontach. Agus mar is soiléar óna pictiúrí bhain gach duine sult as!
We had a Ceilí Mór on Thursday 16th to celebrate Seachtain na Gaeilge 2017.
The children learned The Walls of Limerick and Siege of Ennis.
They were brilliant! And as is clear from the pictures everyone enjoyed themselves!

Playground Leaders
Did you know........
every Monday and Wednesday 5th and 6th class volunteers take the infant classes to do playground games with them for 15 minutes at lunch time.
The leaders have been trained by Ms Staunton and they have learned how to plan their game in advance. They have to organise equipment and space for the infants to play their games.
The volunteers are brilliant!
The infants really enjoy the games!
Well done to all. Great work!
