Super Troopers

All the children have made a big effort to get Physical Exercise every day as part of their homework.  Parents are playing their part by signing the Super Troopers Journal and maybe joining in the activity.
Thl reward is 10 minutes extra active playtime on Fridays for all children whose Super Troopers Journal is filled in and up to date.  This Friday extra playtime was in the hall because of the rain, and then we got a few minutes outside too!
Well done to all!

Hallowe'en Walk

Look back at ASW 2016

We had a great week 25th - 29th April 2016.
The main focus of the week was running a k a day.

Our '1' balloon shows we ran 1 km every day and at the end of the week we were very proud of what we achieved.

Basketball

We are so delighted that Lenny, our basketball coach is back training us every Wednesday.

It is great to have our own coach and we really enjoy practicing our skills every week.

Run A K A Day

One of the highlights of Active Schools Week was Run A K A Day.

By the end of the week, all of the children from 1st class up to 6th class had run 5 kilometres!

All of the children and even the teachers took part, and everyone said they felt much fitter, healthier and happier at the end of the week.

Super Troopers

We are delighted to be taking part in Laya Healthcare's 'Super Troopers' programme.

All of the classes are getting a bit extra homework every night - with a fun, fitness twist.

We have had great fun teaching our families the exercises and games and even the Mammies and Daddies have been getting involved!

GAA Handball

We love learning new games, and GAA handball is great for co-ordination, agility and fitness. Fifth and sixth class have had great fun so far learning the basics of handball. We are lucky Ms. Hanrahan's classroom wall is a perfect place to practice!

We are testing a new blog to share all of the hard work we are doing to try to get our first Active Schools Flag.

Come back soon and see how we are getting on!
